Launch of Orangeville Cultural Mapping and Municipal Cultural Plan
In recognition of the growing importance of arts and cultural initiatives to Orangeville's economy and quality of life, the Town of Orangeville is pleased to announce the launch of its cultural planning and mapping process.
To undertake this important initiative, the Town of Orangeville has partnered with a team of consultants led by Rita Davies of Culture Capital in partnership with Nordicity and GeoPraxis. Funding has been provided by the Creative Communities Prosperity Fund through the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
Orangeville's cultural planning and mapping initiative will extend into January 2014, and will identify current and future priorities for strengthening Orangeville's cultural sector which, in turn, will enhance quality of life and experience for residents and visitors and solidify Orangeville as a vibrant centre and destination for arts and culture.
Consultation with the community is integral to the success of this initiative and there will be numerous ways for the public to provide input into the planning process and share its perspectives on the arts and culture in Orangeville.
The Culture Capital and Nordicity team will be holding an Open House at the Town Hall during the sesquicentennial celebrations on July 6th. Please stop by to say hello and share your experiences and interactions with arts and culture in Orangeville.
Future opportunities to for residents and community organizations to provide input will be highlighted here at this page, as well as on the Orangeville Twitter and Facebook accounts over the coming weeks and months. Please do check back here regularly for more information and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to email Project Manager Julie Whelan at firstname.lastname@example.org .
