OTTAWA – July 2013 - In association with the Northern Communications Information Services (NCIS) Working Group, the Government of Yukon has commissioned Nordicity – a leading ICT and telecommunications consultancy - to undertake the following study: Northern Connectivity-Ensuring Affordable Communications- (NC-EAC).

The scope of the study includes a requirements analysis of territorial and federal departments, an aggregate projection of government communications needs over the next 5-10 years, potential solution sets and implementation plans. The output is a pan-territorial strategic & implementation plan for northern connectivity. Nordicity’s methodology involves primary & secondary research; a proprietary ‘dynamic optimization model’, & economic and socio-economic impact analysis.

The goal of the NC-EAC final report is to guide territorial and federal government department and agencies, policy makers, and communications service providers in their decisions regarding the evolving communications needs of northern government services.
