Fredericton to Develop Cultural Plan
Posted by Nordicity on Sep 03, 2013

The City of Fredericton’s Economic Development Tourism and Culture Department is developing a Culture Plan for Fredericton which will guide decision making and identify priorities for strengthening Fredericton’s cultural resources. The plan will include specific measures and action items for cultural development over the next three to five years.

Fredericton’s Culture Plan will also link cultural activities with tourism and other economic development initiatives. Work on the plan began in August and is expected to be complete by the end of the year. This planning process will take into consideration the other related studies currently underway, including the feasibility study for the Playhouse as well as the City Centre Plans.

To undertake this important initiative, the City of Fredericton has partnered with consulting firm Nordicity.

The process will include stakeholder interviews and roundtable sessions. Consultation with the community is also integral to the success of this initiative.

You are invited to participate in the process by providing your thoughts and impressions through an online questionnaire. The questionnaire will be live from August 30 through the end of September.

Upcoming opportunities for residents to provide input at community events and festivals will be highlighted on the City of Fredericton’s Twitter and Facebook accounts over the coming weeks.
