The Power of Data in Communicating Your Impact:

The landscape of data measurement is quickly evolving, and funders want more evidence that you are making an impact.

In view of these developments, this interactive workshop will explore how creative and cultural sector organizations and businesses can harness the power of data in order to better measure outcomes and translate their impact to funders – be that for individual projects and initiatives, or at the organization- or sector-level.

Outcomes:  Attendees will gain a stronger understanding of:

  • Current trends in impact analysis and what key funders are looking for;
  • Tools and tips for tracking, gathering and analyzing data; and
  • Ways to translate data into meaningful insights for the organization, as well as its funders, partners and other stakeholders.

Format: Presentation and moderated discussion by the consulting firm Nordicity with panelists:

  • Kathryn Townshend, Ontario Arts Council’s Director of Research, Policy and Evaluation;
  • Dan Wilson, Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Director of Strategy and Performance; and,
  • Kerry Swanson, Toronto Arts Council’s Partnerships and Evaluation Officer

Intended audience: Arts and cultural organizations, businesses and associations of any size with an interest in learning why data increasingly matters in the cultural sector and how to enhance the way they approach data measurement and tracking, impact analysis and/or how they communicate their impact to funders and patrons.

Bring your impact measurement and data tracking questions for a lively discussion with funders and analysts! Beverages and snacks will be provided!

Workshop date: January 19th @ 6:30 PM, at Artscape Youngplace
