Nordicity provided assistance to four ISPs applying for funding to deploy broadband Internet in rural areas through Industry Canada's Connecting Canadians Program. Applications involved mapping projected network coverage areas, market analysis and forward looking financial sustainability. Nordicity anticipates that, should these ISPs receive the requested funding, close to 14,000 underserved households in rural areas would benefit from increased bandwidth speed and a higher data caps. In total, the four ISPs requested funding of approximately $5.5 million from the Connecting Canadians program. This funding would effectively help the rollout of broadband Internet projects totalling $15 million.
