Nordicity to support cultural services in the City of Courtenay

Nordicity, in partnership with Patricia Huntsman Culture & Communication, has been commissioned by the City of Courtenay to provide business development services for the City’s designated cultural organizations (e.g., Sid Williams Theatre Society, Courtenay and District Historical Society). The Project Team will liaise with the City’s Recreation & Cultural Services Department and other stakeholders across the community’s cultural sector.

The scope of work is comprised of a variety of research methods including a literature review, and interviews with City staff and cultural partners. It will also benchmark cultural services by undertaking financial management and performance analyses. Through these stages, recommendations will be developed regarding the allocation of funding to the City's cultural partners, reporting relationships, organizational capacity, and the sustainability of planned service levels.

The project will commence in August 2018 and will conclude with a finalized report, including recommendations, by the end of January 2019.
