Strategic planning, public-private partnerships, cultural policy, creative placemaking

With a background in international cultural policy development, Carly has extensive knowledge of the opportunities and challenges facing creative and cultural industries worldwide. She is an interdisciplinary thinker who bridges innovation, culture, and commerce – assisting nonprofits, industry associations, governments and civic authorities position creative and cultural industries within wider policy and regulatory contexts.

A creative consultant with a track record of fostering strategic partnerships and knowledge exchange in rapidly evolving and complex cultural ecosystems, Carly is a dedicated team leader with strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. 

Carly forms business strategies, evaluates programs, develops regulatory policy and performs impact analysis for clients including the Mayor of London, the British Council, eOne Entertainment, the Danish Centre for Culture and Development, UNESCO, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Music Canada, and the Governments of BC, Alberta, England and Wales. She has led several cultural planning processes at the municipal level, driven by innovative engagement and impact methodologies, as well as digital and creative placemaking strategies.

Prior to joining Nordicity, Carly was a specialist advisor to the British Council for the Creative Economy (CE) global programme, and a technical expert for UNESCO, supporting the design and management of systems for cultural production, distribution and governance in emerging markets.
