Market Awareness, Trends and Dynamics: Understanding data-driven patterns in global film performance and international trend

Did you know that the share of major global film awards won by UK films and talent has over the past decade has consistently exceeded the UK’s share of GDP – among G20, G7 and English-speaking countries?

This was just one of the many statistical insights presented by Nordicity’s Dustin Chodorowicz, Balvinder Chowdhary and Louis Underwood, as part of their masterclass last week on April 21, 2026.

The masterclass, “Market Awareness, Trends and Dynamics: Understanding data-driven patterns in global film performance and international trend”’ formed part of Screen Yorkshire’s Local Landscapes, Global Horizons programme for independent film producers.

Supported by the British Film Institute National Lottery Creative Challenge Fund, Local Landscapes, Global Horizons is a nine-week producer-focused development and market strategy programme that helps UK producers and creative teams transform regionally rooted feature film projects into globally resonant films with strong international market potential.

Nordicity is proud to have had the opportunity to participate in Local Landscapes, Global Horizons and meet the many talented independent film producers and creators making a cultural and economic difference for the UK’s film sector.
