At the end of the day, it’s about making sure planning reflects real people’s real needs – so our cultural and social spaces feel meaningful and alive.

Lianne is a community enthusiast with a passion for how people, places, and spaces intersect in meaningful ways.

With a background in community and social planning, Lianne brings extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative research and analysis – complemented by a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the arts and culture sector. She applies this skill set to a wide range of projects at Nordicity, working with government cultural divisions, libraries, theatres, art galleries, and museums on impact assessments, facility feasibility studies, and strategic and long-term plans.

She holds an MPlan from the University of Waterloo School of Planning, an Advanced Diploma in Applied Urban Planning from Langara College, and a BCom in Operations and Logistics from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business. She has also completed training in public participation and engagement practices through IAP2.

Before joining Nordicity, Lianne worked in local government parks, recreation, and culture divisions focused on community programming, community engagement, and access and inclusion. She has also held leadership positions in grassroots non-profit organizations focused on community-driven social impact and advocacy.

Lianne is driven by a belief in the power of inclusive community and social planning to create spaces where people feel connected, supported, and inspired. She’s motivated by the opportunity to translate community voices and data-driven insights into evidence-based solutions that strengthen the cultural and social fabric of communities.
